All our travel fantasies came to a standstill by the current situation of Coronavirus. In the blink of an eye, the coronavirus has changed the Travel & tourism industry. The era of peak travel is coming to an end. Also, the charges of airfares and the hotel rooms, all are getting an adverse impact. Here’s HOW COVID-19 WILL CHANGE TRAVELLING :

  1. TOURISM WILL BEGIN LOCALLY
Once travel commences to pick up again post-pandemic, travelers will tend to venture out locally or closer to home. People won’t travel long distances. They’ll go for local sightseeing to ensure safety.
  2. DRIVING RATHER THAN FLYING
There will be a seismic shift in the demand for airlines as people will avoid long distances to travel. They’ll preferably choose car-drives or roadways over airlines. Most people will follow a road trip to attractions in neighboring states or national parks as a traveling spot for a long time.
  3. SANITIZED RENTAL PROPERTY
Rather than staying in crowded hotels and resorts, people would prefer to stay in private rental properties. The main preference of the wanderers will be the rental sanitized properties. Sanitized property with proper spaces and less crowd will be in more demand for stays.
  4. TRAVEL INSURANCE AND TRAVEL ADVISOR
You all might have heard of life insurance, car insurance, or even health insurance but with the spread of coronavirus, there’s a need for Travel insurance. In case a traveler needs need to delay his/her trip for a few weeks or cancel the trip altogether, his/her losses will be covered by travel insurance.
Also, the role of travel advisors has evolved much more. They are not merely transaction agents anymore. Travel advisors are working with people to adjust their short-term and long-term travel goals
  5. TRAVELERS MAY NEED HEALTH CERTIFICATE
To travel through places equipped with the public like airports or railways, a person may need to show his/her health certificate. A passport-like health certificate is just one of the changes for travelers that may be ahead. These certificates can be stored in digital form.
  6. TOUCHLESS TRAVEL
COVID-19 may bring the era of touchless travel. Through technology, the journey will become increasingly touchless. Contactless technology at every point will enable passenger flow, avoiding queues while maintaining a social distancing -friendly travel experience.

Although, we all may know HOW COVID-19 MAY CHANGE TRAVELLING and many alterations can be made post-pandemic. However, it’s the initial duty of the traveler to ensure his safety and maintain his health standards and to follow all the required measures to prevent the disease.
